Our mission
DeCurtis provides enhanced guest experiences, and that experience starts with how we work with our clients. We see ourselves as partners with our clients, not just vendors providing a product, and strive to create the relationships necessary to help our clients implement and engage with technology in truly unique ways. Being innovative excites us and drives us to improve our solutions continually and working closely with our partners to incorporate their valuable feedback makes it possible to transform the guest experience more and more with each iteration.
David DeCurtis
Chairman of the Board
David DeCurtis founded DeCurtis Corporation in 1998 with the concept of bringing advanced architecture and an incisive focus on the business user to software development. By always focusing on the needs of the client, he has been able to bring advanced development practices and cutting-edge technology into the cruise, hospitality and restaurant markets. Throughout the company’s existence, David has assembled Titan-like teams of forward-thinking engineers, designers and business analysts all driven to architect and implement solutions that were previously deemed impossible. He has added much magic to the Disney brand in their theme parks and aboard their cruise lines. In addition to this work, several of his projects earned top ratings from JD Power and Associates. His focus on the best solution without boundaries allows him to continually serve the client and change the status quo.

Derek Fournier
President & CEO
As President & CEO of DeCurtis Corporation, Derek Fournier primarily manages business and product development while helping to grow the company and its initiatives both vertically and horizontally. A coach at heart, Derek’s nearly 30 years of experience blends the technical with a rabid focus on team building and dynamic performance. Truly a believer that great products and solutions come from great teams, Derek is also focused on continual innovation around DeCurtis as a technology leader to its employees, without whom none of the solutions brought to bear would exist.
Prior to joining DeCurtis Corporation, Derek led IT for a large municipal utility in Central Florida and then traversed the country to work at Microsoft in Redmond, WA. That journey and experience would truly change his outlook in many ways and led to a career that at one point touched 70% of the Fortune 100 and created a pathway back to Florida with a renewed passion for experience innovation.
Active in charity work and an avid sports fan, Derek enjoys time with his family and as many views of the water as he can get.

Jim Learish
Chief OPERATING OFFICER
As Chief Operating Officer at DeCurtis Corporation, Jim Learish is responsible for the global operations of the company. He brings more than 25 years of technical and financial leadership experience to DeCurtis. Jim’s experience has been focused on building high-performing technology-driven businesses, providing high value to clients and driving profitable growth.
Prior to joining DeCurtis, Jim co-founded Issuer Direct Corporation (NYSE MKT: ISDR), a technology company focused on disclosure management. He served as President, Chief Accounting Officer and Board Member as he led the company from inception to public trading and through considerable M&A activity. His additional experience includes capital formation serving as an Investment Banker for numerous clients as well as IT and process consulting in the energy, banking, healthcare and telecom sectors.
Jim is trained in Lean Six Sigma, was previously certified as a Project Management Professional and was a licensed FINRA Series 79 investment banker. He holds a BS degree in Finance from Florida Southern College and an MBA from Duke University.

Joe Carino
Chief financial Officer
Joe Carino is an accomplished financial professional and entrepreneur with extensive experience in technology and international financial management. Joe has held financial and operational positions at a number of high profile and diverse software, technology and manufacturing companies including Ticketmaster Entertainment, Leica Geosystems, International Rectifier, United Technologies, ABB HAFO and General Electric Company (GE).
Joe graduated Magna Cum Laude with an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the University of Hartford. His hobbies include spending time with his family, music, motorcycles, action sports and traveling.
fun fact: Joe is a drummer in a rock band
Babak Aghevli
Chief Technology Officer
Babak Aghevli is a seasoned IT executive with a unique background which blends technology, process improvement and business management. As Senior Vice President at DeCurtis Corporation, Babak is responsible for leveraging our people, products, and services to provide a world-class digital customer experience. Babak utilizes his 40 years of experience in program, project, and technology management to build high-performing teams.
Prior to joining DeCurtis, Babak founded and operated his own consulting company which provided executive level consulting to principally cruise lines and the health care industry. He has previously served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for software and manufacturing companies as well as the head of professional services for an IT company which was focused on transportation and oil and gas companies.
He enjoys traveling, good food from diverse cultures and is an avid sports fan.
